- TARCG Aviation is on the lookout for experienced, motivated, and adaptable SAR Commanders ready to take on the responsibility of ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational success. As a SAR Commander you will have the ultimate authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of every flight. If you're someone who thrives in high-pressure situations and enjoys making crucial decisions while ensuring the success of critical missions, this role is for you!
Your Role:
- Command and Pilot Aircraft: You will be responsible for piloting and commanding the aircraft on SAR, HEMS, Aerial Work, and CAT missions. Your expertise will ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with company standards, operational manuals, and safety protocols.
- Conduct Winching Operations: Perform winching serials from land, vessels, or water, both by day and night, utilizing advanced systems like NVIS (Night Vision Imaging Systems). You'll be skilled at landing in confined spaces and unprepared sites.
- Lead Multi-Asset SAR Activities: Coordinate search and rescue missions with a range of assets, using your expertise to navigate complex, high-stakes scenarios while remaining calm and adaptable in rapidly changing circumstances.
- Skilled Pilot: You will demonstrate expert proficiency in piloting aircraft in compliance with our client’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring both safety and professionalism at all times.
- Strong Communication Skills: Clear communication is key when leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating SAR activities in complex environments.
- Aircraft Knowledge: You will have a deep understanding of the technical characteristics of the aircraft you operate, ensuring all maintenance, regulations, and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Adaptability Under Pressure: The ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations is essential as SAR operations often demand quick thinking and decisive action.
- A valid EASA ATPL(H), including a multi-engine instrument rating
- Minimum 3 years of SAR command experience and 2500 hours of helicopter flying time, with at least 1000 hours on multi-engine helicopters
- A minimum of 500 hours of dedicated SAR flying experience in a similar operational environment
- Experience with NVIS, mountain flying, and ideally HEMS operations
- A thorough understanding of helicopter aviation and EASA flight regulations
